My linux box is painfully slow when surfing the web. My brohter's linux box is slow as well. But on windows it's quick. We are on a cable modem for internet access. We have hooked up a router to the cable modem for protection from the outside. Does anyone have any ideas why windods is fast but yet linux is slow? thanks David

Are you using SuSEfirewall2? If so, try disabling ipv6 at the end of the config file. My Netgear router seemed to have issues with that, causing mine to be slow. After disabling ipv6, speed was back to normal again. YMMV -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Registered Linux user 231871
