I'm not sure what you are saying here. I install using yast1 from a local directory and as far as I know it never tries to do anything out the network. ????? Mark

I bet you have set Install Media to ftp. Change this to local CD and YaST won't go to ftp site any more.

Installation settings->Select installatin medium->Installation from CD/DVD
