[opensuse] keepassx 2.0alpha import does work, but 2.0alpha UI is a bit awkward.
All, I was wrong. You can import keepass1 databases into keepass2. To do this you have to cancel the password/keyfile dialog that is automatically displayed and then choose import from the file menu. The import worked fine, but the user interface in 2.0 is really cluttered compared to 0.4.3. The biggest change is that what was a simple clean input dialog in keepassx 0.4.3 is now 4+ separate dialogs, tabbed on the left, much of which is unrelated to basic use. Yes you can see history and some extra information -- but none of it relevant to the "store credential/show credential" basic keepassx purpose. Hopefully the interface is slimmed down before 2.0alpha is final and it will move back toward the cleaner 0.4.3 interface before release. All of the new new information collected is fine, but should be menu entries that can be accessed if needed/wanted, but should not be part of the default information shown when an entry is opened. Sure more information is better, but there is no replacement for a consistent clean interface. (The appendix and bibliography doesn't belong on the front page :) -- David C.
