Does anyone know if there is any app that allows you to specify when (time of day) someone can log on to a computer and or block access to the internet between a specified time period? Yes, there is some KDE tool that supports that - I can't remember what it's called, but I know I came across it very recently when I was looking for the same thing. I think it's KDE4 only, which is why I didn't investigate any further. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (16.5°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

It's called "Unplugging the modem/router from the wall phone socket". BC -- A man kept complaining about not having shoes to wear - until he saw a man with no legs. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
A couple of years ago I investigated this, and there was a fair amount of information about using PAM to block access for specific users, so that may be a staring point. I did get some of it working, but in the end went for a router and a variation of the 'Basil-method' (see earlier message). Allen On Mon, 2010-07-26 at 08:50 +0100, eddie wrote:

Thanks all. It all looks like good stuff and I think that Linux-PAM is the way to go for me. Eddie -- Delight thyself also in the Lord and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. I suggest you to use social engineering for this task, much more effective. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
