[opensuse] no wireless on suse 12.3
I installed the latest suse 12.3 and it works fine except can't get wireless to work. Wireless works out-of-the-box in mepis 12, mint 14-kde and pclinux 2013-2, so the wirless is ok. jozien -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I had a similar problem which I could only solve by switching from NetworkManager to the traditional method. Unfortunately that's not quite simple with the current RCs. There is a description how to switch from the traditional method to NetworkManager in https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=798348#c36 , you have to do the exactly other way round (before you do it manually you could try if the problem has been fixed in the meantime). I didn't have time to further investigate the problem, but when I remember right, I had (working) connections only for a few seconds then it disconnected and connected again. With ifup the connections are working fine. This does work But ifup should too, you just need to run the network settings and it should all come good. Having said that, I have been switching to NM control since 12.1, even on my main box. Partly because of boot errors related to the network, it caused a delay. Switching to NM solved it. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

You're a day early! So am I,and it works fine for me. RC1 had issues, and with Gold I have to manually drop my wlan connection and restart it after hibernation, but other than that I'm not having any issues with my wireless. I had a problem to connect to access point and after a lot of attempts found out that network manager was trying to connect to just about every network that was in vincinity. Going to configuration and deleting all spurious connection configurations, leaving only mine, finally gave me Internet. -- Regards, Rajko. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
