Hi, again. I'm replying to myself, because the problem is solved. I saw Jerome replying to another posting that you need option -X with ssh. I tested it and it works. DISPLAY becomes 'localhost:10.0' and X is correctly forwarded. Although option '-x' is supposedly default in both SuSE 9.1 and 8.2, I never need to set '-X' between two 8.2 machines. I used to open applications at other machines with SuSE 8.2 and all that was required was to activate X11Forwarding in /etc/ssh/sshd_config. In 9.1 X11Forwarding comes activated by default but the forwarding doesn't seem to work as before. I still can get a remote window open when I log in from an 8.2 machine into a 9.1 machine, and DISPLAY is set to 'localhost:10.0', as it used to do.
