Hello everyone: Under KDE's k-mail, there are two major locations for addresses: 1) Other addresses (most often used) and 2) Recent addresses (usually one-ofs). Is there a way to store both of these address lists on an external media (floppy, CD)? Cheers, Mike

Not sure exactly what you mean by this, but if you mean the regular address book, it is stored in $HOME/.kde/share/apps/kabc/
and 2) Recent addresses (usually one-ofs).
Those are stored in kmail's config file, $HOME/.kde/share/config/kmailrc

Just copy those files. Backups are a good thing anyway

Ah Anders, Jumping in on this thread you have just solved a problem that has plagued me for months. I had hundreds of these going back many months, many of which were no longer valid. Posted several e-mails including this list without a solution. Just now deleted all of them except one. Worked ! My question to you is how does one get rid of this wonderful feature that I do not want. You have been back with us for several weeks now, but I repeat it again for all of our list people. WELCOME BACK !! We all hope you find that job you want. It is unbelievable to me that nobody has snapped you up yet. Bob S.
