Hi Guys While 7.2 is loading it appears to enable the usbmngr (?) and places an icon on mydesktop for the zip drive. When I try and mount the zip drive I get the error ' /dev/sda4 is not a valid block device'. This is strange as it appears in /fstab and i think all the necessary drivers are there. Here's the line from fstab: /dev/sda4 /media/zip auto noauto, user 0 0 Where can I look for anpther clue, or what is the fix for this problem ? I assume there was a ZIP medium in the drive. If that's so, it might be that your ZIP disk was partitioned differently as not all manufacturers do it the same. To check if your disk is partitioned and what partition is used, issue a 'fdisk -l /dev/sda' when the disk is in the drive. BTW, that there is an entry in /etc/fstab tells you nothing unless a 'mount /media/zip' succeeds for the same disk. Philipp -- Penguins to save the dinosaurs -- Handelsblatt on Linux for S/390

Thanks Phillip, if I put a brand new disk in the drive I get the same error message. I cannot run fdisk -l /dev/sda as I get the same error message. Regards Mark
