[opensuse] posting via a droid?
All, I got a droid 3 recently. I tried posting from it a couple times today. Both times, the e-mail was rejected due to HTML content. I'm using the gmail app. Does anyone know if it can be configured to send text only emails? Thanks Greg -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Install the K-9 mail app from the market. Free. Way more powerful. Each account can be separately set up to use html or plain text), along with a boatload of other customizations. It handles gmail just fine. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

+1 K-9; very good app. And K-9 properly supports other mail servers for-real unlike the non-gmail turd mail app that is bundled with Droid. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

From my Atrix, I use the browser gmail access and post from there. It uses the non-html setting in gmail which I made default. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I would +1 on the K9 solution, to me accessing webmail via a mobile everytime I went to send a message to the mailing list would frustrate me beyond measure. K9 mail worked perfectly the detault mail client still sends out html content even though you set the message size to minimum (plain text only). -- --- Mr Stuart Tanner Bolton Linux 24 Vincent Street Bolton BL1 4SA Tel: +44-1204410474 Mob:+44-7868028028 www.bolin.org.uk www.facebook.com/BoltonLinux -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I'm going to give K-9 a shot. So far it looks good. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

It also misses a reply list option. Actually I haven't seen much development lately at all. -- Michael S. Dunsavage -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

When I got my Android tablet I quickly discovered Google wants to own my data. When I try to download in the Marketplace it asks me to "sign in" to my Google account and immediately without prompting starts to sync all my Google data to the device. To combat this I uninstalled all the apps that have to do with Google sync. Now I access my Gmail from the regular Mail app as IMAP, and I can send to this mailing list just fine. Of course, since Google wants to own your data, if you don't use the Gmail app (which is removed on my device) you loose basic function, such as "search." -- Med Vennlig Hilsen, A.
