[opensuse] The dilemma
To top post or bottom post, what a dilemma. It is a social catastrophe that ranks up there right beside squeezing the toothpaste tube in the middle or installing the toilet paper roll backwards on the roller. (Backwards, of course, is opposite what you were taught by your mother). Some guys unzip, do their business, zip up and leave. Others take their pants half way down whilst standing. Again, I think it goes back to what was taught by dear old mom. So, the next time someone is offended by the placement of replies to a post, either top or bottom, just chalk it up to improper potty training as an infant. (Either their offense or the placement, take your pick) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Some people are offended with a comming day, and than with everything else. If you see someone telling you that he plonked you, look only who told you that. This can be considered habitual behavior that is not common here. Now about top or bottom posting. When you have one reply to a mail, time flow of quotes does not exists and top posting is better, as quoted text is anyway just reminded what you are answering on. When you expect more threaded replies, timeline of quotes is important for readability and bottom posting is the only way to preserve it. That is the reason for preference to bottom post in news groups and mail lists. The difference is practical and it is better to compare it with the dressing appropriate for the season, in summer short sleeves in winter long. It is not impossible to reverse the "habit", but it comes with discomfort. -- Regards, Rajko M. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
