Hi Kirk: This may be of use: http://sdb.suse.de/sdb/en/html/y2_no_modulesconf.html from the support data base. It is for sound cards but may be of relevance. I have found that by perusing the support data base alot of configuration details can be gleaned. Also look in file:/usr/share/doc/packages on your computer. Just did a clean install of 7.1 and I am getting an error when I configure the nic card. I am using either a Netgear FA311 or D-Link DFE-530TX+. I get the same issue. When saving the configuration, I get an error stating that SuSE cannot save the modules.conf file. While the system works properly even though it was not saved, I have to do the init each time I reboot.... Any ideas... and if this is an old question... please for give....
