[SuSE Linux] StarOffice As User - Off Topic
I've gotten my staroffice 5.0 installed properly. Now, the only user on the system that can run it is root. When I try to use it from a user account, soffice just starts a script that tries to repair the system. When I use the same link... soffice, as root, it starts the program. Do I need to modify permissions here? If so, how. It's strange that the same link will start the program as root. Thanks. You need to install it as the user that is going to use it. Remember that is for personal use. Alternatively you can install it as root with the /net parameter ( ./setup /net ). This will install the server part of soffice, then login as the user that's going to use it and run ./setup from the /opt/Office50/bin directory. This will install the user part and will require the key code you got from stardivision.com.
