Hi. I have some problems with my network here. I run 4 linux computers here. One of them have a win98se in dualboot. I have fixed IP's on my ISDN LAN router with dhcp included. On the linux computers i have the following in /etc/hosts: 127.0.0.1 localhost aaa.bbb.c.1 aaa.bbb.d aaa (The combined linux/win computer) bbb.ccc.d.2 bbb.bbb.e bbb (a Laptop) ccc.ddd.e.3 ccc.bbb.f ccc (linux) ddd.fff.f.4 eee.bbb.g ddd (linux) That should be ok ??. In linux I have setup the following in Yast2's network_card_configuration: Static address setup for the bbb.bbb.2 computer: Ip address: bbb.ccc.d.e Subnet Mask:255.255.255.0 Hostname and nameserver: Hostname: name of host Domain name: bbb.f Name server list: ip of the isdn_lan_router Domain search list: bbb.f Routing, Default gateway: ip of the isdn_lan_router. Configuration of a win computer: I have specified an ip address, and a subnetmask. The subnetmask is 255.255.255.0 The Deafult gateway is the IP of the isdn_lan_router. The dns is set to the name of the computer, and the domain = domain.xxx The Ip address here is the IP of the isdn_lan_router I can ping all of the computers, but cannot ftp them as I could a while ago. What could be wrong ??.
