Hi, Have found self in a situation where I can no longer get access out via the router at the office. Can ping it OK but cannot ping any further. This was all workinmg fne until about a week ago. I do not have access to any allow or deny or whathaveyou in the router (or know how it works). I cannot see anything changed at my end. Could this be me or could it be that I have been disallowed? Sorry to be vague but the network is run from down the county by a couple of absentees you cannot get hold of. Try tracerouting to a host that is external to the local network.. Then also check the configuration for whatever program you use for packet filtering on ther router. This is normally IPCHAINS.. Also you might want to check your local settings on the workstation, ie gateway, ip address, etc.. Also check to see if things are working from the router itself.. That might help you locate the problem to the router or to the workstation. Hope that gives you a starting point :) Cya Matthew Matthew King: Network Engineer, Cable & Wireless Optus.
