Hi to all Im in linux for about 2 years now, and i always use SuSE, i try to use Debian once, but SuSE rulez. So let's to my problem I went to opensuse web page and i have downloaded the Internet Installation BOOT.ISO, and a instaled The Suse OSS 10.0 via Internet using one of the mirrors. The instalattion os 100% Ok, I had choose the Standard KDE instalation. The instalation was fine when the system reboots, was every thing ok, but when KDE initialized i notece that the grafics user interface wasn't using all the disponible area of my Monitor (LG FLATRON 775FT), well i was thinking that if i updated the system and installed the NVIDIA driver for mine Grafic Card the problem will be solved ( I have NVIDIA GeFORCE FX 5200 128 Mb AGP 8x). well, when i updated the system and installed the NVIDIA Drive, and reboot the system, nothing was change. I tryed to edit the /etc/X11/XF86Config but thats nothing there, i tried the /etc/X11/xorg.conf and nothing there eather, im both nothing is written. What can be the problem? how can i resolve then? its look like i have a 14" Monitor the rest stiil on collor black no used. Thanx every one Marcel Luna
Hello, first: nearly everybody here needs help - please use more descriptive subjects! second: this list is mostly about the openSUSE project and the alpha/beta releases. Questions about stable releases (like SUSE Linux 10.0) should go to suse-linux-e@suse.com mailinglist - you will get more answers there. That said, let's have a look at your problem ;-) Am Samstag, 17. Dezember 2005 16:36 schrieb marcel666:

XF86Config is obsolet and replaced by xorg.conf.

What do you mean with "nothing is written"? Is the file empty?

Maybe your screen was detected wrong. Try running sax2 (as root) and setup your monitor correctly. Does it work then? If it still doesn't work, you may need to call sax2 with the -r and/or -l option.
