Hello, I bought Suse Linux 6.3 and I am trying to upgrade from 6.2 to 6.3. I want to upgrade the /dev/hda3 partition. I backuped my root partition to /dev/hda8 and changed my lilo.conf so that I could always boot the old Suse. So I tried to start YaST or YaST2, either direct or booting from the CD, but he insists to _install_ Suse and remove the existing partition! How do I tell to upgrade all packages? Do I really need to do rpm -Fvh on everything manually? I searched the archives but I couldn't find any question similar to mine. I'm almost sure this has been asked before and the answer can be found - my search capabilities aren't optimal. regards, Gerrit. -- Plies korekt enie bet ingglisj joe encauntur in mai imil mesusj! -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- http://www.geekcode.com Version: 3.12 GCS dpu s-:-- a14 C++++>$ UL++ P--- L+++ E--- W++ N o? There should be an entry in the main menu of (original) YaST that says 'Upgrade' (at least there was on 6.1). It then checks your installed packages and sees if it's got any updated ones... I am terribly sorry - RTFM should have been the only right answer here. Thanks for not flaming me. I should have read chapter 15 and the FAQ.
