Another one is called zircon and also comes with SuSE.
Sadly, nothing in Linuxland compares to mIRC, and there is nothing in Linuxland that compares to Pirch. Pirch is much better than mIRC.
Most of the Linux irc clients seem to have been designed by aliens - I haven't seen one yet that is very clean with simple dialogs.
Zircon is not bad, "so so" - but has the goofiest config screens I've ever seen on the planet. kIRC seems to be designed well, and once it's finished it should be real nice - definitely nicer than anything else in Linuxland so far. But right now you can't configure it very well or use DCC very well. I could never get bitchX to work though .. I don't know if it's included with SuSE ...
Now, if someone comes up with a Pirch equiv in Linuxland - then we'll have something. Pirch allows you to log into multiple irc servers with completely different personalities and profiles. Plus it has a clean look and lots of configurability.
Try KSIrc. Its a KDE IRC client based on sirc. It has scripting with perl, colors, DCC, and multiple servers, but unfortunately not multiple personalities. Maybe, a feature request :) Also, something i dont like in UNIX clients is that they dont let me specify the user part of my ident. As i im root im always banned from the linux channels and some servers. It really should be configurable. -- ___ ____ ___ ___ _ _ E-Mail : storm@esoterica.pt /__ / / //__/ /| /| ICQ UIN : 7105574 __/ / /__// \ / |/ | WWW : <A HREF="http://homepage.esoterica.pt/~storm/"><A HREF="http://homepage.esoterica.pt/~storm/</A">http://homepage.esoterica.pt/~storm/</A</A>> -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
