Just got a brand new external CDRW (Gericom enclosure see below for model) and it doesnt work. Its connected to my firewire port. I have never tried firewaire / Linux, but I was in a Linux Seminar this afternoon and some very smart people said the 2.6.x firewire support was very iffy. If you want reliable firewire support across numerous platforms, they said you should revert to the 2.4.x kernel. For SUSE Pro, that means reverting to 9.0.
