Ok! Then you have to make sure to solve the problem. Maybe you have already, I haven't got any more bounces. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Rolf, I think these kind of things could happen sometime. Beside your possible testing of a local SMTP/POP server I guess this ML engine should provide as well a sort of auto-blocking mechanism for such type of spurious/undesired posts, especially when it raise so much to appear as a DoS! The important now is that you isolated the problem. Impossible. Impossible because when the bomb exploded the mail had left the mail list server days before. Event list: 1) you send an email to the list. 2) the list server sends an email to everyone. 3) the mail is fetched by fetchmail of Somebody. Postfix refuses to deliver locally with a temporary cause. Mail is stuck, waiting. 4) after some days, postfix thinks it is enough and bounces back all the emails it got from the list, one by one, to each poster of each email. The bomb is off. There is nothing the mail list server can do, except unsubscribe the culprit - but that will only take effect after several days, when the queue is spent. And unnecessary because that Somebody has noticed the problem. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
