I have such mixture, I haven't noticed anything. I don't know what to look for in that respect, either :-)
That could be the link behind why we both had random freezes though. Since adding barrier=none all my computers have been rock solid with 8.1 too, so I am quite happy with it, but I wish SuSE would update their "known problems" web page, or their Support Database.

Absolutely! And document it somewhere, because those barrier options are not documented anywhere. What's the good of them, if they remain unknown? -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
