Hi, I installed SuSE 6.3 but I can't find the settings for the keyboard. I have to install te Belgian Keyboard layout but it's not there. When working in X (KDE) i get an international keyboard (qwerty) and outside X the layout is good because I configured it with Yast. Can anybody tell me how to transfer these settings to the KDE-environment ? Right, first of all back up you /etc/XF86Config file in case this all goes wrong... You have at least two options. Number one is to start up sax and select the correct keyboard from the menu, that's the easiest, but most likely to break and require the backup file. Number two is to edit the /etc/XF86Config file by hand and find the "Keyboard" section. Once there find the XkbLayout line - in my case it looks like this: XkbLayout "gb" Now we're going to guess, and say that the Belgian keyboard layout is know as "be" ;-) So change whatever is currently in there to "be", so that the line reads: XkbLayout "be" Now restart X and hope for the best. Hope it works, Chris -- __ _ -o)/ / (_)__ __ ____ __ Chris Reeves /\\ /__/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / ICQ# 22219005 _\_v __/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\ -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
