I have both gtk-devel and gtk2-devel installed as I have gtk and gtk2 installed. Is this incorrect? Thanks

No, that's fine, I just wanted to make sure there was no confusion :) -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 9.0). Hi Andreas, Thanks for the tip. I added /opt/gnome/bin to my path and tried again. Now I'm getting the following error: checking for gtk_main in -lgtk... X code will not be built. *** creating ./config.status creating Makefile creating src/Makefile creating doc/Makefile Anyone any other ideas as to what is happening here? Is something interesting in config.log? -- Andreas

I changed one line in ./configure (forgotten "$"-sign) and many in ./src/ parsetime.y (forgotten ";"-signs) and now it is possible to build. I can send you the files, if you want. But without any warranties.... -- Andreas

I was messing around with gtk and glib libraries and I noticed that opening an xterm and then su - works while opening a shell with Terminal Sessions -> Root console doesn't. I think different PATH in the 2 environment...
