Hi I installed FreeType, xfntscl and tt fonts, but still can't find a file called fonts.scale which is needed to run TrueType. And guess what? mkfontdir can't make and it doesn't exist anywhere. Any suggessions? ttmkfontdir (http://www.darmstadt.gmd.de/~pommnitz/xfsft.html) can create that file. Ciao, Stefan -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

fonts.scale is generated by some tools that extract font names and descriptions off the TTF files (I used "ttmkfdir"). mkfontdir generates an identical file called fonts.dir. I got an other version of mkfontdir together with xfsft. This version generates the font.dir file that is identical to fonts.scale (I havn't tried the SuSE version of mkfontdir, it might be different). I Think I send you my a dokument with an installation description this morning, but I can't tell since you appear only as "root" (aren't we all that one??) with no name to memorize... <grin> Juergen -- =========================================== __ _ Juergen Braukmann juergen.braukmann@gmx.de| -o)/ / (_)__ __ ____ __ Tel: 0201-743648 dk4jb@db0qs.#nrw.deu.eu | /\\ /__/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / ===========================================_\_v __/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\ -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
