OK, so some may get 2.2.7 kernels. Where are the SuSE patches for the rest of us with 2.2.5. Can I use the updates from ftp.kernel.org, are they compatible with SuSE's?
Since SuSE5.3 I have never used the SuSE supplied kernel. And when an upgrade replaces my kernel with the SuSE stock version, my first task is to install my own kernel kernel again. Last I checked the newest kernel is 2.2.9 which I am presently using without problem. So yes, you can use the kernels from ftp.kernel.org.

For a summary just type "rpm -qi lx_suse".
