Does it require any firmware sometimes without firmware it will appear in yast but will not scan?
The documentation suggests yes, but in Windows 7 that seems automaticly.
I presume you are using traditional rather than network manager ? I used System Setups > Networkmanager as was used during 11.4 installation.
Did you try with network manager just out of interest ?
Kind Regards Stuart Tanner
The Atheros AR5BXB63 802.11 bg NIC networkcard of my Acer Laptop got defect and I was advised to buy a Sitecom Wireless-N USB Adapter WL-352 to solve the problem. For Windows 7 indeed it was solved, but for 11.4 I got 802.11 as interface choice but scanning for networks did not work. After a restart I got Atheros Communications Inc AR5001 Wireless Network Adapter as interface choice, but scanning resulted again in nothing. In Yast Hardware scanning it showed up as RTL8191S WLAN Adapter (wlan1). Any idea how to solve this Problem?
