In attempting to rip a CD to mp3 i find I need to configure the encoders. In looking in Suse help on my box I find large sections of help files are missing when I try to build the database. It appears that not having a DVD even though I selected install everything leaves a large gap in the help for things like GRIP. Attempting to use the helps built into GRIP also do nothing. Third and possibily related fatal nautilus crashes followed by a seemingly limitless supply of warning windows. which close best with killall nautilus. In order for Grip to rip to MP3 you have to download Lame and compile it. SuSE 8.x allows you to rip to OGG or WAV but not MP3 by default. On Thu, 2003-07-24 at 22:22, Carl William Spitzer IV wrote:

My nautilus produced the other day something like 200 megabytes of error logs, filling the home partition. It took me sometime to find where all that space had gone to: .xsession-errors. it looks like nautilus is a Gnome file manager. I even tried to use kpackage to uninstall it and the system is still a problem. the only fix I can think of is reinstall and go for the details to prevent nautilus from comming up.
