I have a problem with the instalation of Netscape 6 As i am unfortunate to only have a k56 connection and a expensive one at that i have downloaded the .xpi files i neex along with the instalation files and such.. So i ran the installer and as it completed the download i copied all the .xpi files to a local drive. It ran through the instalation ok and it was installed ok.. Now i want to install it again, on another machine and do NOT want to download it all over again. So how do i install from a local disk? I keep running into a wall when rewriting the config scripts. Originally the config.ini file states: URL0=ftp://linuxftp.netscape.com/pub/netscape6/english/6.01/unix/linux22/xpi/ As i dont run a FTP on my server i want to install from a networked drive. So i have tried changing that to: URL0=file://mnt/server/hdd/Downloads/Netscape-6.downloads/ That doesnt work. I get : Gdk-ERROR **: BadIDChoice (invalid resource ID chosen for this connection) serial 1541 error_code 14 request_code 1 minor_code 0 Gdk-ERROR **: BadIDChoice (invalid resource ID chosen for this connection) serial 1555 error_code 14 request_code 1 minor_code 0 Next step was changing it to: URL0=/mnt/server/hdd/Downloads/Netscape-6.downloads/ Still no go. Instead i get: Gdk-ERROR **: BadIDChoice (invalid resource ID chosen for this connection) serial 1515 error_code 14 request_code 1 minor_code 0 Gdk-ERROR **: BadShmSeg (invalid shared segment parameter) serial 1585 error_code 157 request_code 142 minor_code 2 Ok. So next step was installin a FTP server... (ProFTP from the 7.0 set) Anonymous FTP enabled and all the files placed in /pub Changed the line to: URL0=ftp://server/pub/ And got: Gdk-ERROR **: BadIDChoice (invalid resource ID chosen for this connection) serial 1567 error_code 14 request_code 1 minor_code 0 Gdk-ERROR **: X connection to :0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown). Changed to ip-number (192.168.0.2) instead of "server" New error: Gdk-ERROR **: BadIDChoice (invalid resource ID chosen for this connection) serial 1551 error_code 14 request_code 1 minor_code 0 Gdk-ERROR **: BadIDChoice (invalid resource ID chosen for this connection) serial 1565 error_code 14 request_code 1 minor_code 0 And what more is: The error codes keep changing after each consecutive run... So if i run the installer twice it gives two different errors.. I am at a loss here...
