ps2pdf has just 14 fonts at its disposal. If a font is not available in ps2pdf, its shape is converted to bitmap, which is not of very high quality. With output from SO, this will often be the case. SO 6 and OO can be set up for making pdf files. It is explained in the menu help. I read earlier in this list that those pdfs are of very high quality. Maybe I should add that I have WP Office 2000, and it, too, does a wonderful job in making pdfs. It even converts truetype fonts to type 1 for this purpose. SH
