Hi all I bravely gave my mother a linux system to use so she could email us on the other side of the country. I set up just about everything for her, but I need to do some maintenance locally. What are my options? How difficult would it be to set up, say either a remote login or even a remote xhost so I could see what she's done to her a desktop?! Has anyone tried to do this, and what kind of bandwidth would a remote xsession takeup? I'd be happy with just telnet-ing into her machine and being able to use ftp and so on at the worst case, but it'd be nice to see what she's done to her mailbox so I could try and fix it!! Please bear in mind asking her to do much more than switch on the computer and connect to our ISP would be asking a lot, she's something of a beginner.... ;-) k. ------------------------------------------------------ Kester Clegg York, U.K. If you're based in Yorkshire, please visit the York Linux User Group site at: http://www.YLUG.cwc.net ------------------------------------------------------ -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
