Re: [SLE] samsung dvd-rom
Thats not the problem. If I put a regular CD (SuSe cd) it will load if I put a dvd movie like The Matrix in the drive it will not load. Anyway to fix that. Paul On Fri, 9 Feb 2001, Dee McKinney wrote:

I have a small problem trying to load dvd discs on my samsung dvd-rom. I try a mount /mnt/cdrom2 and it complains about no medium found. I have installed kernel 2.2.18 and still am unable to open up the dvd drive. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on getting a DVD disc loaded?
Thanks,
Paul
It's /dev/hdd on my system. hdd: ATAPI 40X DVD-ROM drive, 512kB Cache

Check you Kernel config.. That make menuconfigm or xconfig. Check under filesystems, you may have left off the DVD filesystem, which is listed as UDF filesystem. Check to see if its not been selected. Obviously select it and than try building the kernel. Hope that helps, Matt On Sat, 10 Feb 2001 00:09:18 Paul Zimdars wrote:
