[SLE] sax and xfreesetup
SuSE 6.3 Multimedia Install Permedia 2 video voodoo2 daughter card 196MB RAM SB16 PnP I did a fresh install of SuSE 6.3 today. And now I cannot configure x86. I tried using sax which resulted in a black screen, from which I had to ctrl-alt-del to reboot (ctrl-alt-backspace did not work). Then I tried x86freesetup (something like that, the last choice from within yast) and it let me go through all the settings, but when I clicked done, it said it was starting the graphical something or other and then kicked me back out to the yast menus. I have successfully set this machine up before using x86freesetup but not sax on 6.3. On 6.2, I was able to use whatever setup tool for the xserver I wanted. Has anyone ever seen this before? Any help would be appreciated! I all ways use the middle on (xf86config). I find this faster and easier and it seems to work ever time for me while the others don't.
