[SuSE Linux] RealAudio 5.0 ERROR #38
I've installed RealAudio 5.0 and followed all of the installation instructions, but when I try to receive a RealAudio broadcast I receive an error #38, which states: "File compression not supported. Cannot find the RealAudio decoder" Is there a fix for this? How about this if you've already followed the install directions shown in .../rvplayer5.0/index.htm: 1. Go to /usr/lib and make the directory "Real" 2. Copy all your *.so files from .../rvplayer5.0 to /usr/lib/Real 3. restart rvplayer Worked for me. - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>

Worked for me.
And now it has worked for me also! Did I happen to miss this in the install instructions? Thank you Jep Hill!!! ------------------------------------------ Man's mind is his basic tool of survival! As best I know, it's an otherwise undocumented quirk. Tex Collins of the Austin Linux Group (www.austinlug.org) told me about it. My next hurdle was to recover rvplayer5.0 after putting the computer onto a masqueraded network. Had to add an entry to the masquerade modules to allow rvplayer files to pass. Then all was ok again.

Yep, works just fine. I have a USR Sportster internal X2 fax modem, upgraded with V.90. Just don't buy the winmodem version. Dana -- dlaude@execpc.com Dana J.
