SPAM: konqueror cannot see files in Kodak Easyshare C340

Greetings, I have this digital camera which is recognized by Suse 10.1 If I type at the command line: polaris:~ # gphoto2 --list-files --port usb I get: There are no files in folder '/'. There are no files in folder '/store_00010001'. There are no files in folder '/store_00010001/DCIM'. There are 6 files in folder '/store_00010001/DCIM/100KC340': #1 100_1756.JPG 1294 KB 2576x1932 image/jpeg #2 100_1759.JPG 1286 KB 2576x1932 image/jpeg #3 100_1772.JPG 1257 KB 2576x1932 image/jpeg #4 100_1775.JPG 1292 KB 2576x1932 image/jpeg #5 100_1776.JPG 1296 KB 2576x1932 image/jpeg #6 100_1778.JPG 1301 KB 2576x1932 image/jpeg There is one file in folder '/store_00010001/MISC': #7 AUTPRINT.MRK 1 KB text/plain There are 7 files in folder '/store_00020001': #8 000_0011.JPG 1322 KB 2576x1932 image/jpeg #9 000_0012.JPG 1304 KB 2576x1932 image/jpeg #10 000_0013.JPG 1291 KB 2576x1932 image/jpeg #11 000_0032.MOV 5858 KB video/quicktime #12 DCEMAIL.ABK 1 KB application/x-unknown #13 DDISCVRY.DPS 0 KB application/x-script #14 LABELCTB.LCB 1 KB application/x-unknown if I type camera:/ in konqueror, instead, I *can* see the folders on the camera, but they look empty. At the prompt where I launched konqueror I get the messages at the bottom of this email. If I type directly the complete URI above, konqueror says instead: An error occurred while loading camera://kodak c340/store_00010001/DCIM: Unknown error Unknown model What is happening? I don't know if this helps at all, but a while back I used a Kodak digital camera with Suse 9.3. All I did was plug it in via USB and type
media:/ in the Konqueror address bar. The camera appeared as a simple USB drive. I was able to quickly copy the photos off of the camera without any issue. - James W

If I do that I do not get an USB drive icon. I get a camcorder icon with the caption "USB Imaging interface". When I go into it, I see the folder, but clicking on that just yelds: An error occurred while loading media:/camera/store_00020001: Unknown error Could not lock the device and these errors at the command prompt where I launched Konqueror kio_media: WARNING: KLocale: trying to look up "" in catalog. What can this be?

This very well may be bug #121196, see http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121196 If there is not an update that fixes this bug for you there is an older page that may help you get rolling at http://www.frozentux.net/kodak Good luck. - James W

It really looks like it, I wonder why I didn't find it myself when I entered that string in Google. Thanks.

I don't think that page can do anything for me. I can download the pictures with gphoto2 just fine at the command line. It's just konqueror and (IIRC) digikam that give me that problem. OK, I'll try to upgrade kdelibs/kdecore/etc asap and see what happens. Thanks again, Marco -- The right way to make everybody love Free Standards and Free Software: http://digifreedom.net/node/73
