Carlos it is amazing to me that anyone would put out mail to 127.0.0.1 using localhost.linux.local as a name. Speak of wrong configuration. I got this also. Carlos E. R. wrote:

The 127... part appears, for example, when retrieving email with fetchmail, which handles it off to postfix for delivery. In this case, this user has a broken virus scanner, and has not repaired it for months... As to the linux.local part, well, it is the default on a new installation, I think. For the record, the culprit is: "gbrown at unionavenue.com" - but don't bother telling him, as his email is misconfigured. I have forwarded that info to the mail admin; please, those of you receiving the bounces forward one of them to the mail admin, I don't like to be the only one reporting :-( - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFCvJBAtTMYHG2NR9URApsaAJ9tqZAbGKKdvAWX6tBPcdBXB0NpcgCeMhqH 1hTMw9m9XI5fOc25xttxiEM= =os6H -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Er... O:-) Sorry, I meant the list admin, ie, suse-linux-e-owner. He can unsubscribe him.
Domain: unionavenue.com
But this might work as well, who knows. - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFCvVEwtTMYHG2NR9URAi6FAJwPn3xXxj9OWoA8c7uDVHSWRUOt3wCbB8/B U9rptwmnhJ6SlITJrGnjdd8= =xBmL -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

I remember that some month ago you were one of the receivers in the three-digits-range, when the first storm of bounces began to fly. I only got about a 100.

I don't think that he can legally do anything about the problem. If the problem subscriber fetches his email regurlarly and the recipient address is valid it is an annoyance but not a crime, when he bounces everything back. If you administer your own server you can easily get rid of bounces and spam or virii send by list harvesters. Just use one email address only for the lists and place the according restrictions classes on that address. It also rejects the double post replies to the OP sender address send by newbies Sandy -- List replies only please! Please address PMs to: news-reply (@) japantest (.) homelinux (.) com

No, no, my idea was simply to write to this suse email list administrator, because he can unsubscribe this chap that has been bouncing email from the list for months. - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFCveHbtTMYHG2NR9URAgPIAJ0ZgtetlZW+tC5OKs8TpbGO0J2T1gCeJ4i3 zvJROvyi+jeHpViA5J9kwQ4= =JO/f -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
