I am trying to run IE 5.5 under SuSE Pro 8.0. Simply because I am stuck with some *$#@^% web-based applications that only run under IE5.5. I have downloaded and installed the latest version of Wine and have been successful in bringing up simple Windows apps like Notepad and Calculator from the Windows partition of my dual-boot laptop. However, when I try to invoke IE, wine automatically goes into a debug mode and gives me some Addressing errors related to some DLLs. Looking for help to resolve this or pursue some different option altogether. TIA, Shub Lahiri Linux Enthusiast ---------------------------- S. Lahiri

Your answer lies here: www.codeweavers.com Look into Crossover Office, I know it costs money, but last time I played with it it did use IE 5.5 too successfully. Matt
The only time I've seen anyone successfully get Internet Exploder to run under Wine is with CrossOver Office from Codeweavers. You could check that out if your application is that important. If it's web banking or something like that. If they can't support all modern browsers such as Konq, Mozilla and Opera. I'd find another. :) Cheers! * S. Dear Shub, I have had great sucess with "IE5.5 only" web site by using Konqueror (Konqi) from KDE 3.03 and setting it to report IE5.5 . It has even woked when the newest OPERA under native WinXP fouled up PeterB On Saturday 31 August 2002 14:22, S. Lahiri wrote:
