I got a similar problem, although not in the physical mounting of devices. My problem is that, when I mount a USB drive, (80Gb), i can read from it, but not write to it. I'd tried to change permisions as root, but that also returned with a "access denied" error. What else can I try?

I can write and transfer rates appear similar to read.
