Re: [SuSE Linux] Modem only works at 19200
try 38,400 (think that's correct.) -derek
Hello All,
I am using Suse 5.2. My modem is work fine but only at 19200 I set the speed to 28800 in rc.config.
now I can not dial in to my ISP anymore, it dial in I can hear the
handshake
but than it drops the line. In the log I get "Speed 28800 is not supported"
My modem is a BahnBooster 288000 (elsa) it is working at full speed under windows.
How do I set up my modem to use 28800?
Thanks very much Stefan - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e

It is, but with a compressing 28800+ modem you are better off using 115kb if you can, which you need to select using setserial spd_vhi (which applies a multiplier when your application requests 38400 -- a somewhat embarassing anachronism which is supposed to be fixed come 2.2) (See man setserial)
