[opensuse] Turbo Tax on Wine
Has any one tried to install Turbo Tax under Wine? I am going to give it a try. If you have an idea on how to do this I could use some help. Bob R -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I have a feeling you're in for a bit of a rough ride: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=623 http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/search/?name=turbotax&search=app Your best option, if you must use Turbotax is probably to run Windows in VMWare Player or VirtualBox and install TurboTax there. Or try TaxAct. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
If you are looking for an endorsement, I've been using TaxAct for my Business for 14 years - GREAT ! P.S. The first thing I did with my accounting package (Quasar) is to setup the COA to mimik the Schedule C and put numbers in the line item title. So it is just reference and copy. Why would you run Turbo Tax - when you can run, just as good as one, like TaxAct - - - - - and - - - - - it ONLY costs $17.99 for Fed & State ! http://www.taxact.com/ On 01/30/2014 08:27 AM, Robert Rawlinson wrote:

Works fine in virtualbox. However if you are running XP in vbox, make sure you have all .NetFrameworks updates applied. For some reason intuit installs are heavily dependent on them. May be better now, but in the 2012 timeframe I had a number of failed installs of turbotax (both vbox and real pc). -- David C.
