[opensuse] why do I not see the emails that I write to this forum, only other people's email?
hello all, It seems that when I write an email to this forum, opensuse@opensuse.org, that email never shows up in my inbox. However, I know that at least some of you all are seeing the email, because I got a response from one email that I sent. When I sent an email using thunderbird from the windows side, I saw the email that I sent. But when I send them on the opensuse side, I am not seeing the emails that I send. thanks all George Olson -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

This has been answered before - its because you are using gmail. Gmail identifies the message you received as the same as the one you sent (by message ID) and filters it out as a "duplicate". -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Blame it on gmail and the way they handle list email. Look in your Sent folder for you copy. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I guess Google figures that the way to compete with Microsoft is to have an equally crappy implementation of email that causes grief for people who don't even use it.

Because you use gmail. Use a different provider. Or get your copy from the sent folder instead. Or convince gmail not to delete those emails.

Your copy, not the list copy. This thing happens regardless of the OS you use. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
