Hi, I want to start Courier-IMAP at boot, but I'm having troubles. I compiled Courier-imap, and I can start it at the command-line (./imapd.rc start). Next I put the sysV init script in /etc/init.d, and set the executable flags of the file. Then I modified that script so the header matched more or less that of postfix, to let Yast install it at the right run-levels. Then I started it with the run-level manager (and by rebooting), but there is seems to go wrong : although there is "success", it does not run. I can't work out the script (any references ?) but it enters the 'start'-case, but then it goes wrong, there should be more 'echo'es, but there aren't. And I can't find anything in the logs (messages, mail). Any suggestions to solve this ? B.T.W. I could not run Courier's sysconftool. Could this have any influence ? Install courier-imap from SuSE Linux 9.0 (or recompile it for your SuSE Linux version). run "insserv courier-authdaemon" and "insserv courier-imap" and be happy.
