[opensuse] Go-OOo vs OOo-NE vs OOo 3.x
I wonder if there is some difference in functionality between Go-OOo 2.4.1 and OOo-NE (OpenOffice Novell Edition) 2.4.1? Now with OpenOffice 3.x, I wonder if Go-OOo and OOo-NE will continue with extra functionality? I.e the quickstarter menu isn't yet implemented in OOo-NE 3.0.x. Rgds, Terje J. I expect there will be none.

Check this article http://lizards.opensuse.org/2008/10/09/openoffice_org-3_0_0_3_4/#more-249, it contains a whole section on the differences, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, Director Platform / openSUSE, aj@suse.de SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

At a recent Novell conference, they mentioned how Ooo in Novell is expected to have 100% VBA compatibility with Excel/Word. Thanks for the info link. I've just ran an upgrade with YaST from OOo 2.4.1 to OOo 3_0_0_3_4 from the UNSTABLE/openSUSE_11.0 repository. The 2.4.1 OOo Quickstarter became disabled. Looking in OOo 3.0 Options>Memory the checkbox to enable Quickstarter isn't there as previous. In comparision I also installed standard OOo 3.0rc4 on Windows and the quickstarter is still there (enabled). However, using /usr/bin/ooffice in a terminal, it is possible to launch the OOo Welcome Menu.
