Hi! I am trying to install NCL 2 on 10.3 64-bit PC with kde3. I am following this cool soultions article: http://www.novell.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=... When i run ./ncl_install i get: [ncl_install] ncl_install.sh v2.4 started [ncl_install] mode = upgrade [ncl_install] option = [ncl_install] ERROR: unable to install the 32-bit Novell Client for Linux on x86_64 Does anyone have the NCL installed on a 64-bit system? It looks like it may not install on 64-bit? That would seem stupid. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I'm pretty sure the Novell Client for Linux is built for SLED 10 and only really supported for SLED 10. Whilst it may be possible to install on openSUSE 10.3 it probably won't work very well. It looks like you're running into some of the differences between SLED 10 and openSUSE 10.3. The file /usr/lib/libbfd-2.17.50.0.5.so should be provided by binutils which you most likely have already got installed, so it's probably down to the differences of version in SLED and openSUSE. There is a bug open for the very bad state of the Novell Client on anything else than SLED: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=262319 There are also some things mentioned on how to get it run on 10.3, with several file links and the like...
