I can put a folderview plasma (plasmoid icon? sorry, the kde terms are not easy) on the search and go activity but I have to click it to open it. Can I have it so that it is open and I can see the files inside like it behaves on the other activities? Also, could someone translate the first sentence from bad English into kde? Is 'Widgets' ok as a shared definition?

Nope, Search and Launch (Search and Go in your translation) is a full screen app launcher and search menu, that you can't add widgets onto, like the app launcher homepage of a smartphone. KDE not allowing something for once, crazy, huh? It seems like a bug that you can add folder views as icons to the bottom edge. What you could do is have a second Activity with folder view(s) on it, then switch between launch and go and with the activities widget on the panel, or with meta-tab (personally I bind switch Activity to alt-`). I have set it up here to demonstrate: http://developer.kde.org/~wstephenson/activities_search_and_launch.png switching to: http://developer.kde.org/~wstephenson/activities_files_and_folders.png
Also, could someone translate the first sentence from bad English into -kde?
I did my best... I'm doing a screencast about Activities in openSUSE 12.1. If there's anything you want explained, please let me know. That'll do but see below.

Nope,
Thought not.

I did my best... Brilliant. You've answered my question. You've said I can't have what I want but have suggested an alternative.

What we need is simple explanations with examples. What you have done above is exactly that and I thank you for it. I think the examples should take this tone: 'An activity is what the desktop looks like. Here is an example of my desktop. <put a screen shot here>. To make it look like this, I did this. <list of things you did and where you clicked>. Here is what my secretary uses: <another screen shot here> etc.' Or how about a series of official opensuse kde videos to ,erm, 'compliment' the jargon riddled stuff on youtube? I've come from just having implemented a single sign on lan for win and linux using samba and ldap and honestly, that was easier than understanding the phrasing that kde uses. If you want it to catch, you'll have to listen to ordinary users and give them the explanations they need. I'm an example of an ordinary user. I feel that the documentation is aimed at rocket scientists. Cheers and hope this will help with your 'cast.
