I am using SuSE 8.0 on a Dell PowerEdge 1650. The server has dual on board GigE NICS. Which is connected to a Cisco 6506 Switch. Currently it is only connected to a 10/100 port on the switch till our GigE module arrives. The problem I am having is that I only get about 65kbytes of transfer max from that line. I have tried switching ports on the switch and many different patch cables thinking it might be one of the 2. No matter what I do I get a burst trasnfer of 110kb and it dwindles down to 65kb within 30 seconds. I have tried both nics thinking that one of them might be bad but I get the same results from both. The Nics are using the e1000 module. I don't know what to check to make sure the nics are working properly. What should I do to check this? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom --
