OpenOffice quickstarter
I downloaded OOo latest version and uninstalled the SuSE rpm. Has anyone used it with the quickstarter? I can't find anything usesful about this on the OOo site. Thanks, Steve. 8.2 with OOo-rc4

Where did you get the SuSE RPM from? -- The 8.2 cd set. I reinstalled the quickstarter afterwards. But I've no idea how to get it onto the panel in kde.

Sorry, I misread your mail, thought you said you had a SuSE RPM of the new OOo :) -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 8.2) GNOME updates for SuSE: http://www.usr-local-bin.org

Start the quickstarter, rightclick on the icon in the panel and give it the path to your program. I think that's what I did once. Cheers, HÖ -- /// Helgi Örn Helgason, Registered Linux User: #189958 \\\ \\\ ~~~~ SuSE 8.2 * Kernel 2.4.20-4GB * KDE 3.1.4 ~~~~ ///

If you can't find it in the menu (in KDE) then you probably haven't installed it. It's on the cd's, install it and serch for it in the menu to start it. HÖ -- /// Helgi Örn Helgason, Registered Linux User: #189958 \\\ \\\ ~~~~ SuSE 8.2 * Kernel 2.4.20-4GB * KDE 3.1.4 ~~~~ ///

You can start it from an xterm. The command is: oooqs from that point on, it should be in your systray unless you exit it. Charles -- "How should I know if it works? That's what beta testers are for. I only coded it." (Attributed to Linus Torvalds, somewhere in a posting)
