I keep seeing bits and pieces here and there about this is possible, but haven't seen any definitive guides out there. Other than, it isn't possible w/o frying hardware. I know this is poppycock, since I'm doing it in windows 98 w/ a software package called swap manager. It really isn't hot swapping, but just swapping ide drives w/o rebooting. I've got those handy dandy hard drive mobile racks. Great little things, but I'm using them for backups. And it would be really nice to be able to swap them w/o rebooting. Sure, I know you'd need to umount them fs on them, physically turn the drive off w/ the switch on the case, pull the drive out, insert new drive, power on.. etc. Sounds rather elegant if you ask me.... So anyone out there done any of this? IF so.. how? ;) Glen Goldsmith
