Using Suse 7.3, KDE is installed. I want to add Gnome so I can show it to someone. What is the easiest way to do this? Harry G

use yast2 or yast1. select the Gnome apps you want. The core Gnome packages, libraries etc., will be installed automatically through the dependencies.

Hmm ... adding Gnome apps alone will not make YaST install the complete Gnome GUI, I'm afraid. Libraries yes, but the wm packages? I'm not sure. At least I am running evolution, which is clearly a Gnome app, on KDE 2.2.1, 'til it hurts, and I don't have Gnome as GUI available in its complete version ... So, maybe you should also check what is in the gnome folders of the SuSE CDs or in the Gnome section of YaST (1 or 2) and check this out as well; for the basic packages. Cheers ... Gnome and KDE are both WM independent. It's just that you learned to assotiate KDE wih KWM and Gnome with maybe sawfish and earlier(?) enlightenment.
