Hi,... Thanks for answering, JVM is an example for packages I want to update, and anyway, I have version 1.5, and I want to upgrade to 1.6, my problem exactly is that I don't know the servers that I can use to update the SUSE. What servers I can use to update SUSE? Regards,... TheOldWiseKing J Sloan wrote:

Java 6 is only in pre-release, so I doubt you'll find it in any of the usual repositories. I think you'll have to go to http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/ea.jsp and get a Linux release candidate installer or RPM.

It depends on what you want -- if you want installation sources, look
for a mirror close to you on
http://en.opensuse.org/Mirrors_Released_Version. You will want to add
both the installation repository and the addon installation repository
to your package manager. There are also many third-party repositories
listed at http://en.opensuse.org/Additional_YaST_Package_Repositories
that are particularly valuable, especially Packman and suser-jengelh.
If you are looking for security and bugfix updates, then you need to add
the updates repository to your update manager. The format for this has
not changed in ages, it is:

I forgot to mention the repositories where you can upgrade to a new version of many packages, at http://software.opensuse.org/download/repositories/. One small glitch with these is, you need to add a source for each application, eg. if you want to upgrade both KDE and Gnome, then you need to add both repositories. That can get pretty messy in your installation sources list, if you want to keep up-to-date on many applications. -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
I think using SMART will be more nice, it's very easy and direct. it also contains a GUI. there is a wiki page for it at: http://susewiki.org/index.php?title=Smart Thanks for ur help,... Regards,... TheOldWiseKing Darryl Gregorash wrote:
