All openSUSE lists (only a few exceptions) are subscribers only. We've tried last year for a couple of months to allow non-subscriber posts but simply couldn't catch all the spam as the content we receive is simply too diverse. In the end we've switched back. If you're not a subscriber the list will tell you to subscribe first, then post. Isn't there a way to run SpamAssassin on the list? All of my list subscriptions go through SpamAssassin, and I don't recall ever seeing any of the opensuse posts being categorized by spam but have seen several coming from other lists categorized as such. And for the record, I don't have any opensuse lists on any white-lists -- nor am I so insecure or so sensitive as to have someone on a black list (but, that doesn't mean I read every list-based email, either). --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Per Jessen wrote:

I also don't ban HTML email sent to me, though that can raise SA's spamminess score, I get quite a bit of HTML email, including ones sent to lists. Google-based-lists have no problem w/HTML email, since both there email and their list readers are HTML based. They don't seem to have any noticeable problems weeding out spam. But neither are most of there lists, mono-font based text-only either (lest there be any confusion, I don't mean monospaced font, though that is a smart default). That said, though, most google-based lists (maybe not all, not sure), do require a subscription to post, but I find I am able to post from both their web-based group interface, as well as my 'email' based T-bird. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also, FWIW, I've seen more than one list-server *ask* me if I want to be sent a copy of my own emails (I usually choose yes, so _I_ can see my posting in list context), as well as a separate option to suppress list-based duplicates if the user's email is detected in the "To" or "Cc" fields. I usually choose no, as I, both, prefer to get personally-addressed copies in my personal email-box, as well as see the post in list-context where I usually have a list-centric email-box). -linda -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I'm sure there would be, but it's really superfluous when subscriber-only mode will do it.

They do. On your own email: X-Virus-Scanned: by amavisd-new at localhost X-Spam-Flag: NO X-Spam-Score: -0.001 X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, score=-0.001 tagged_above=-9999 required=5 tests=[RP_MATCHES_RCVD=-0.001] autolearn=disabled It did not work out.

I select yes, but I have a local filter to classify them into a different folder. I don't want the list to not send an email because of a possible duplication, and then don't receive any copy for some other reason. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)

I think another point, which the netiquette page doesn't mention, is that the sigs are political (in a fairly broad sense). Politics don't translate well on a global mail list, and however well-meant are likely to irritate or inflame somebody, somewhere which doesn't help when you're discussing a technical subject. So it's usual to keep all politics off technical lists. Sigs are often used to state what hardware and software you are running, so it is clear to others. Really Per?
Yes really - there is zero useful information in Ruben's question.
When the modules are not loaded for VB an error pops up asking you to run a script that does not exist. A bug report needs to be reported to Oracle to fix the pop up. Perhaps (hopefully) it has been fixed and we will see it with the next update.

Ruben, I guess you've never read:

I can highly recommend it.

That is not true. Anyone who has downloaded the package with zypper and ran it would know exactly what I'm talking about. How many init scripts are warned about with the application? ONE

Do You have packages kernel-devel kernel-source patterns-openSUSE-devel_kernel ctags diffstat cscope indent patchutils quilt kernel-syms rpm-build ? If not, install them and then reinstall VirtualBox. They are required to (re)compile the kernel driver. I use VirtualBox from Oracle's repo http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/rpm/opensuse/42.1/ and it doesn't install listed packages together, although they are needed. -- Vojtěch Zeisek Komunita openSUSE GNU/Linuxu Community of the openSUSE GNU/Linux https://www.opensuse.org/ https://trapa.cz/
