I seem to recall that there is some sort of service you can connect to to get local weather reports/forecasts, but I don't see anything on Google, nor in the SuSE 9.2 instruction books (I don't have the 9.3 books), and the Windows Weather Bug says it has no Linux version. Is there such a thing, and if so, how? TIA--doug -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I downloaded this, and I thought I installed it, and then I restarted Firefox, but I don't see any name or icon that would seem to show it. How do you access this plug-in, and how do you know that it is really installed?

I guess there was another version of Firefox open. It seems to be working fine now. (I don't understand why the Weatherbug website says that there is no version for Linux, when that URL you gave me has this version for Linux, but anyway, thanx a lot--doug -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Because, weatherbug for windows is a third-party program not a plugin for a browser. The link I gave you will run in Fire Fox no matter what OS it's on. Also, I don't believe the extension is sponsored by weatherbug. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

KWeather is an application that provides both a panel icon, allowing you to watch the weather as reported by a local weather station, and providing a weather service that can track multiple weather stations and provide this in- formation to other applications including Konqueror’s sidebar and Kontact’s summary page. KWeather is now a part of KDE and can be found in KDE Toys. Bryan **************************************** Powered by Mepis Linux 6.0 KDE 3.5.3 KMail 1.9.3 This is a Microsoft-free computer Bryan S. I don't know. I've only used it on the Panel. However, the Konqueror sidebar is mentioned twice in the Kweather handbook, although it is not explained: From Chapter 1 - Introduction: KWeather is an application that provides both a panel icon, allowing you to watch the weather as reported by a local weather station, and providing a weather service that can track multiple weather stations and provide this in- formation to other applications including Konqueror’s sidebar and Kontact’s summary page. From 3.3 - Weather Service: Stop fetching weather updates for all listed stations, and stop providing weather information to the Konqueror sidebar and Kon- tact. *************************************** Powered by Kubuntu Linux 6.06 KDE 3.5.2 KMail 1.9.1 This is a Microsoft-free computer Bryan S. You have the "electronic" version of those books.
and the Windows Weather Bug says it has no Linux version. Is there such a thing, and if so, how?
There area applets for gnome, kde, and fwmn included in the distro. And a "Dockable Space Weather Monitor": wmSpaceWeather is a space weather monitor. The monitor shows: 2 relativistic electron and 3 relativistic proton flux levels at geosyncronous orbit (currently from the NOAA GOES spacecraft), current Solar Flare X-ray flux, and the last 8 3-hour Kp index values. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
